On September 1st, the 3rd Responsible Business Congress "ESG - (R)evolution" was conducted by RBC. Within Sber’s session dedicated to global ESG trends, Konstantin Rzaev, Managing Partner of EcoPartners Group, gave a talk.
He talked about the challenging state of the sustainability industry today, with Western companies that previously supported cyclicality having departed. Russian corporations are preoccupied with other issues and are giving less thought to the ESG agenda.
On the other hand, environmental responsibility is now seen as an advantage in the competition for employees and consumers. By 2027, thanks to the extended producer responsibility concept, we should fully transition to a closed-loop economy.
